Iranian power plants’ capacity up 65,000 MW

Iran’s deputy energy minister for electricity and energy affairs said the country’s power plants’ capacity hits 65,000 megawatts.

Iran’s power generation capacity has increased up to 4,000 megawatts in comparison with 2011, reaching more than 65,000 megawatts in 2012, Mohammad Behzad told ISNA.

He referred to programs of Iran’s power industry to grow the country’s capacity of power generation, adding one 258-MW unit was launched last year.
