Iran sells $3.2b in bonds in 6 months

TEHRAN – 39 trillion rials (about $3.2 billion) worth of bonds were sold in Iran during the first half of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20-September 21), the Fars News agency quoted Central Bank of Iran Deputy Governor Ali-Asghar Mirmohammad Sadeqi as saying.
Iran issued a total of 92 trillion rials (about $7.5 billion) in bonds in the previous Iranian calendar year, of which 47 trillion rials (about $3.8 billion) was sold, he added.
Some 300 trillion rials (about $24.5 billion) worth of bonds are in the hands of the people, he noted.
On May 26, Central Bank of Iran Governor Mahmoud Bahmani said that Iran plans to issue 250 trillion rials (about $20.3 billion) in bonds in the current Iranian calendar year to support domestic production and to help regulate liquidity growth.
